I was doing some rounds online and well I stumbled upon a product that got my eyes. A brand I personally had not heard apart from when I saw this phone. The Vsun Race is a 5 inch device that not only looks elegant but is compatible with 360° virtual reality kit. The last cheap smartphone that I saw and which providrd a free VR Kit was the X-tigi Vision 6.

What I love about Vsun Race.

Vsun Race is a 5 inch handset with 720p, even though that’s might have been at least 1080p with the price you can agree with me at Kshs. 7,000 720p is not bad.

It supports 4G/LTE network. Who doesn’t love to be up to speed with network spectrum? Vsun Race sports 4G bands and you can enjoy faster downloads and streaming.

Sports 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. On point you can’t get any device at 7k with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, not easy to find one and on top of that with 720p and free VR kit.

Free Virtual Reality Kit. Many people out there have never experienced what VR is. With Vsun Race you can enjoy free 360° VR tour with the free VR kit provided with the phone.

Vsun Race

What I seriously despise.

Android 5.1 Lollipop: when soon we are going to get Android 8.0 on handset, Vsun Race would have been anywhere around Marshmallow and Nougat that would be better even if Android 5.1 person well but that’s too far.

The battery: 2250mAh battery is not any good. More so for a handset that supports VR kit then it will need a more better battery. This was a joke on their side.

Poor Front camera: Vsun Race has a 5MP front camera. This is too low with VR support at least some 8MP front would serve quite well.

Key Specs of the Vsun Race.

  • Display: 5.0″ inch display screen
  • Resolution m: 720*1280 pixels
  • Dual SIM support.
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • Quad core processor with MediaTek chipset
  • 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera.
  • Supports 4G/LTE.
  • Battery: 2250mAh

What do you think of a handset that supports VR and comes with a VR kit for free and costs around Kshs.7,000 on Jumia.

This device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with 2GB RAM that handles performance more effectively. The device has 16GB ROM you can store definitely more than what you ought to. If that’s not enough you can use SIM 2 slot as an expansion slot for more memory.

The handset has 13MP primary camera and 5MP front shooter. The device is equipped with a small 2250mAh hours which I doubt can support more than. 2 hours of VR tour.

What is your take on this? Buy Vsun Race at half the price on Jumia.
