Based on the hierarchical naming, Tecno L6 is a more affordable as compared to its descendant Tecno L7 hoping to get itself a share of the sub 20K market.
It borrows its large battery capacity from the L7 and adds some smart improvements for a record-breaking performance. This is one of the largest budget smartphones around and you won’t miss to notice the spacious display when you start using the handset for the first time.
Tecno H6 has a simple design that otherwise lacks the trimmings that were on the Tecno L7 or the closely related Infinix Hot X507. With this handset, Tecno seems to have set its focus on telephony rather than aesthetics. However, the 4,500mAh tablet-class battery will serve as an adequate consolation to most users.
You would think the 4,500mAh power source makes the device unwieldy but it actually doesn’t. The battery employs lithium polymer (Li-Po) technology affording to keep its weight and thickness within normal limits. Tecno promises up to 30 days of standby time, 30 hours of talk time or up to 2 days of mixed use from a single charge. This is easily achievable when you consider how modest in features this handset is.
Battery optimization techniques are catching up with budget smartphones and Tecno not being left behind has its own power saving profile to cut back on background processes and extend battery life in an emergency.
Nothing is exciting at the core. Tecno L6 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core CPU (most likely the Mediatek MT6582) and 1GB of RAM. The display measures 5 inches with 480 x 854 pixels and 196 pixels per inch. If you don’t mind letting go the packed battery, you could have this configuration for half the price on the Infinix X507.
With Android Kitkat and such an amount of RAM, performance is guaranteed to be smooth through a wide range of apps. Android Kitkat has the most number of users after Jelly Bean and for this reason, you can be sure to receive friendly app support into the next two or so years.

For your files, Tecno has provided 8GB of internal storage (about 5GB available), 32GB micro SD capacity and an additional USB OTG functionality for plug and play access to files stored on a flash drive. When it comes to storage options, Tecno got the L6 completely covered and we can’t think of any scenario where you will be handicapped by options on this handset. Tecno L7 offers a sharper display, more RAM but misses out on a micro SD slot. It’s also taken too long to launch but we stay hopeful that the L6 will be unveiled sooner.
