Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus receives OTA updates that fixes battery life and call stability


Samsung a smartphone maker has begun rolling out an OTA firmware update for the Galaxy S6 Edge+. The OTA update from Samsung for the S6 Edge Plus brings in improvements to the device’s battery life and call stability.

Last week, Samsung rolled out an OTA firmware update for the Galaxy Note 5 phablet, which brought the improvements to its call stability and battery life.

Since both the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ had been launched together and feature similar hardware, the latter had also been expected to receive the OTA firmware update sooner or later.



According to Sammobile, Galaxy S6 Edge+ users from India have begun receiving OTA update notifications with build number G928GDDU2AOJ5 . The OTA update for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is about 140MB in size and claims to bring improved stability of call, battery usage optimization and enhanced security.

However before downloading and installing the OTA firmware update, all the users of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ must know that they will not be able to downgrade their devices after the update due to changes in the security policy.

Samsung is also yet to provide a release date for updating the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and other flagship devices, including the Galaxy Note 5, to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
