I tend to imagine that sometimes our local brands always hike prices for their phones. I can’t say much but this can be evidenced by the Safaricom’s latest Neon smartphone series. The neon sky and the Neon Pulse. Safaricom Neon Sky goes for Kes. 9499/- which would have been a lot cheaper due to the specifications of the device. On the other hand the Safaricom Neon Pulse is going for Kes. 13799/-.
Let me prove to you why Safaricom Neon Pulse might just be bad for the price above. This article will churn out the specifications of the Safaricom Neon Pulse to keenly distinguish it from better devices that are sold at that price. Majority of other devices going for 13k are generally much more better than this.
Quick look at the Safaricom Neon Pulse specification.
- 5.0 inch display screen
- 8MP rear camera with Flash
- 2MP front shooter
- Runs in Android 5.0 Lollipop
- Powered by Quad core Qualcomm MSM8916 processor clocking at 1.2Ghz
- 4G/LTE enabled
- 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM still sports a MicroSD Card slot
- 2500 mAh Battery Capacity
The Safaricom Neon Pulse smartphone has a 5.0 inch display, it would been better to go for a 5.5 inch for the price. Anyway. it is a good smartphone for first timers but the price is a piss off. The display is quite cool though am negative just because of the price.
It runs on Lollipop even if it is version 5.0 it is better than KitKat and previous versions. It gives more user friendly features and a great stick user UI. And still you can have custom launchers like Nova Launcher, Go launcher, Apex etc. Powered by a Quad core Qualcomm MSM8916 processor that clocks at 1.2GHz to give better processing capabilities.
One good thing is that it is a 4G enabled handset. Even though only a few areas are covered by 4G, it won’t be bad for you owning a 4G phone. 4G/LTE network provides speed for both streaming and web surfing.
Safaricom Neon Pulse features a meagre 2500mAh battery capacity. It is not good at all for a whole 4G phone to have such a battery capacity. Though it far better than the Safaricom Neon Sky’s 1780mAh and it is too a 4G smartphone.
Safaricom Neon Pulse features an 8.0 megapixels primary camera. Just like one on the Infinix Hot 3, am yet to compare the camera qualities. It also sports a 2.0 MP front camera for selfies and video calling.
The phone also sports a 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM as the key storage for the device. It too features a MicroSD card slot.
