During the Safaricom Tablet Fair #SafaricomTabletFair, the Safaricom Neon Smart Tab has been the top and front tablet during advertising. Going for Kes. 7,999/- that might be awesome but it’s time to air out some problems with Safaricom neon smart tab.

RAM alone on a tablet or smartphone cannot perform. Combined with high processing speed and the number of arms/cores giving blazing performance.
Why do I blame the Safaricom Neon Tablet’s RAM?
Here is the reason.
Running on 512MB of RAM that’s too far smaller for a tablet that you will install HD games. It won’t allow you to install many applications/enough applications that you would need on your tablet.
1.3GHz might be enough with the DUAL Core processor gives a good performance. But 512MB of RAM is far too low to up the processor.
Less Internal Storage (ROM)
A great tablet has atleast 8GB or even more storage space. Why so?
Android Files are usually large with games files you need a more extended ROM to up your tablet.
Safaricom Neon Smart Tab only has an internal storage of 4GB far too low than I had expected.
Even though it has a MicroSD slot well, a large internal memory is essential.
Even though tablets ain’t for taking photos but that time comes when you need to capture something.
The 2.0MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera aren’t upto speed for better photography.
Lack of Accessories
Another problem with Safaricom Neon Smart Tab is that, Safaricom does not stock accessories for the phone and tablet.
This means that if you happen to break the screen of your Safaricom Neon Smart Tablet you won’t be able to replace it.
I did a follow up to ask them after one Zawadi, asked me to check for someone which could replace her broken neon smart tab screen. Well the answer I got was that, she can look for some local vendors but Safaricom themselves don’t stock the smart tablet accessories.
That sums up my issues and problems with Safaricom Neon Smart Tab.
