We’ve been hearing rumors about the Galaxy A7 since all the way back in Sept. Now, Samsung finally revealed its latest Android phone.
The A7 packs a metal design like the smaller A3 and A5, but offers a bigger display and a few other improvements.
The Galaxy A7 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display, an octa-core processor, a 2600mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5 MP front- facing camera, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with microSD support up to 64GB.
It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and TouchWiz software with a focus on photography, including Ultra Wide Shot and Auto Selfie modes. Samsung
also included its Private Mode for security along with multi- window view.
Overall, it looks like a solid phone with a sleek design that comes in white, black and and gold. We’re a bit
disappointed by some of those specs though, especially the decision to offer a 720p display instead of 1080p to match the iPhone 6 Plus. Battery life is also a bit of a concern here, though hopefully Samsung’s included some of the same great battery-saving software offered with the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4.
The company hasn’t said when the A7 will be available or how much it will cost, though it should come at a
“competitive price point.” We’ll let you know once Samsung reveals those details as well.
