Sometimes you have to change with the trend. You have to go the way many are going and stick up your quality that way and make a fortune. Blackberry has seen majority of phones are running on Android and have decided to go the same. This is not the first Blackberry handset to run Android, Blackberry Priv was the first to run Android and Blackberry DTEK50 or DTEK50 Blackberry is the second device from the manufacturer to feature Android OS.  Dtek50 is an awesome device from the specifications out there and it would cost some $299 closer to Kes. 30,000.

It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it is powered by a powerful processor. It features a 64-bit quad core Qualcomm 8952 and an octa core Snapdragon 617 with a clock frequency of 1.5GHz and 1.2GHz respectively.

The Blackberry DTEK50 has a 3GB RAM with 16GB ROM. As if the internal storage of 16GB isn’t enough, it’s got the capability to take up to 2TB thanks to the SD card slot.

The phone is slim at 7.4mm thickness, it is more slim than most devices we know or happen to have purchased.  Like Tecno Boom J8 which features a 7.5mm. It is light with the slim nature of it you can walk around with it safely. It weighs roughly 135g. 

The display is a 5.2 inch screen, that’s diagonally. It has a screen resolution of 1080p that’s 1920*1080 pixels which is really tough on battery. You will need so much power to drive and keep on this kind of resolution. Anyway we need good displays do we have to accept with the negatives associated with them. The screen has a pixel density ratio of 424 ppi.

It features dual camera setup with the primary camera being 13MP with Phase Detection and DUAL TONE LED flash for improved photography. It features 4x digital zoom and can record videos of 1080p. 

The secondary or front snapper is 8MP with co specs. It also features LED flashlight. 

Blackberry DTEK50 also supports 4G/LTE network. One good thing about it.

The battery of the Blackberry DTEK50 is a non removable lithium ion battery with a capacity of 2610mAh.

You’re doing good Blackberry, this is one good step. Blackberry is looking to improve its mobile sales while at the same time providing security that they have always been known for. The Blackberry DTEK50 is going for $299 (Ksh. 30,000) as reported on the Official website during the pre-order. It starts shipping on 8th Aug 2016.
