Huduma Centers in Kenya have been a wonderful step in realizing and making efficient these services, the launching of the self service portal eCitizen has simplified a series of things within the Kenyan public space. There several services you do online, pay and submit already filled forms and others just do and finish them without presenting any forms. Did you know that now you can apply for Certificate of Good Conduct online? Now you know and we are going to explain deeply on how you can do exactly that.

What do you need to Apply for Certificate of Good Conduct Online?
- Your national ID of course you can just have your ID number
- Your first name as it appears on the National ID card
- A valid email (required though not a MUST) but it is recommended
- A valid phone number that will be used for verification
How to Create an eCitizen Account
- Visit the eCitizen website ecitizen.go.ke and then proceed to click on Register on the top right side of the page.
- Click on register as a Kenyan Citizen, Alien Citizen, eVisa or eBusiness
- Enter your National ID card Number in the text box
- Enter your First Name
- And click on Verify
If you already have an account or have successfully created your eCitizen account, proceed to login to the eCitizen dashboard.
Login to eCitizen
Enter your ID number and your chosen password them check the recaptcha challenge then click on Login.
You will be redirected to the eCitizen dashboard that appears just like the image below.
Then proceed to click on DCI or Director of Criminal Investigations link or visit www.dci.ecitizen.go.ke to apply for Good Conduct online via eCitizen.
After accessing the DCI dashboard click on make application then after loading choose Application for Good Conduct for Adults (18+).
Provide details of the location or province, then choose the Huduma centre neat you where you will use to take the Fingerprint and palm prints and the date.
Proceed to payment and pay via MPESA to eCitizen Paybill no. 206206 and use the account number provided. Always enter the right account number as that is what defines the payment has been done by who and for what transaction.
Download and print the fingerprint form and two copied of invoices and take them with you on the date chosen to Huduma centre to have your details captured.
You details will be captured at Huduma Centre and you will be notified both via the registered email address and phone number when your Certificate of Good Conduct is ready. Thereafter you can proceed to download it from the eCitizen Portal.
Note: The DCI does not send the Good Conduct via email.
